Stained Dreams

Didn't go into work today. Too much snow, not enough buses. I watched the remake of The Day of the Triffids instead. It was pretty creepy and intense. I don't know why I insist on watching post-apocolyptic series/films but I guess I like to be scared.

Also? NHL10 makes me swear a lot. And why the hell are the Sedin's not playing on the same line? I wanted to be their RW :( Happily the Canucks are doing pretty well, although poor Bieska has some severed tendons and will be out for ~3 months.

I had a lovely week off from work. I went to visit Steve and went to Top Gear Live (but it wasn't as gay as last year :( ) Then I stayed with _profiterole_ and that trip passed too quickly.

We went to see New Moon which was so gay (Alice/Bella I'm looking at you <3 ) Plus I got to see Star Trek again and it was just as much fun second time round. Watched lots of fanvids which is always fun. As is The Covenant which we also watched.

And we saw the first two episodes of Misfits which is really quirky and fun.

Now it's back to real life which is lame :(

I'm following the Sedin twins on twitter. Poor Daniel has a fractured ankle and won't be playing for 4-6 weeks :(

So I quite like ice hockey, and I've been watching some NHL matches from the 06-07 season (since they are online) and I have my hockey OTP <3 Daniel and Henrik Sedin (why yes, they are identical twin brothers!) Now to try and find some fic (although can't spend too long looking, we're playing board games tonight!)

Saw Transformers 2 last night. I will not ship Transformers. I will not ship Transformers. I will not ship Transformers.

I can however ship people so yay. Maybe I should see the first film at some point? Maybe I should pack. Or go read Jack/Ianto fic. Tough call. (I wonder why I don't have a Jack/Ianto icon).

Got my results today.. I GOT A FIRST! I am a very happy girl :)

So I don't know if anyone on my flist reads this is into comics but if you are (or want to give them a chance) I would suggest Y: The Last Man which is about, you guessed it, the last man (and his monkey!) after something wipes out everything with a Y chromosome. It's finished, has sixty issues and is well worth the read. There is action/adventure, conspiracy theories and (non-explicit) lesbianism (obviously, since no guys!) It's an interesting story with people reacting to the situation in many a varied way. (I assure you it's much better than I make it sound!)

(And if you're into zombies there's The Walking Dead which is great, and focuses more on the people in the situation and how they are affected by it as opposed to be a 'typical' horror movie type thing.. but that's still in progress :( )

I know I'm uber slow but I watched 'Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog' today and it was WIN. I watched it for Neil Patrick Harris but it also has Nathan Fillion in and was written/directed by Joss Whedon, along with his brothers. So yes, it's awesome. DL here. Since Joss likes to reuse actors I hope these means that NPH will get to be in at least one episode of Dollhouse.

And to continue the NPH love I found this; 'Proposition 8 - The Musical' and I know, again, slow.

I'm not going to link to random youtubes of NPH singing even though I love it. Especially duets with Jason Segal.

And oh! As if I could forget that NPH was the 'Shoe Fairy' on Seasame Street.You know you want to see that

And I think that I will watch Starship Troopers tomorrow which I have seen sooo many times (although not for a few years) but now I'll be watching out for NPH's scenes.

I'm so not prepared for tomorrow's exam (or Thursdays, or Mondays but at least they aren't tomorrow). I can't remember most of what I've revised *panics*

The sky is blue (seriously I can't see a single cloud from here), the sun is shining. I'm sat in the garden and all is well :) What a nice start to BST (almost worth losing an hour!)

I've started watching Stargate Atlantis. Some nice Jack/Danial in the first ep which makes me happy and I have three ships so far (I've watched all of season 1):
Mckay/Zelenka
Sheppard/Ford
'McShep' (because yay, let's pick the pairing for which I've been seeing fic about for years).
It's nice to have some sci-fi to watch.

I watched Tin Man (finally!) and it was really good. It's a shame it was only a mini-series but it was great to watch. Cain/Glitch :)

I read 'Neverwhere' and I don't know why it took me so long to get round to it. It was a great little book and I think I'm gonna have to hunt for the BBC series which won't be as good but still. Lots of pairings, so I hope I can find some fic once I stop procrastinating and finish uni work.

Um, is that it? (I need to catch up on old fandoms though. Whoops).

I went on a mini-cruise to Amsterdam with my sister. It was awesome. I like travelling by boat even if it takes ages and they have a ship wide wake up call 1.5hrs before docking. I don't need that long to get ready! And since it was like 6am that was less fun.

We didn't really plan what to do in Amsterdam but we went to some museums (like Madame Tussauds) and shopping was done. I got a nice coat for 10euros in the sale. Very warm.

There was snow at Europoort. And there was snow when we arrived back in Hull. And then I got back to Huddersfield and snow! Yay! So me and Ceri made a snowwoman :D Then walked to the Chinese, nom. (Saw one of my lecturers in there. How odd.)

My time management skills need serious work. Still. Essay finished before the deadline so go me. Possibly didn't help that I went to the ice hockey last night, but it was good fun. Well, it was great until partway through the second period when one of the other teams guys (well, technically it was the girl) went down. But it wasn't our fault, since it was a legal check, she must have just fell awkwardly or something. Up until that point we were only down by two goals but then we got our butts kicked *would like to see the Ice Hawks win before she graduates*

(I should actually learn some of the rules rather than just going 'get him!' and 'wooo' when we occassionally score).

Watched 'Being Human' when I got back. Awesome. *waits for _profiterole_ to watch it*

Argh! My laptop died last month, so I restored it and it was working like a dream then today, for no reason, it decided to stop working in the exact same way. So I restored it again then literally five minutes later it had stopped working. So another restore later and here I am, scared to do much of anything on the poor laptop.

I got back today from _profiterole_'s and I had a great time. There was snow! There's not often snow here so it was nice and pretty to gaze upon.

We watched a few films:
Narnia - Prince Caspian which was better than I thought and Ben Barnes is hot <3 Well I'd seen vids with him in from my last visit but seeing him actually in the film was nice.
Shelter - which is a cute gay movie that doesn't have too much angst and there are plenty of nice scenes. And hot tattoos :D
Twilight - We both weren't expecting much and were just going for the 'lulz' (which we did get) but it was actually quite enjoyable. Totally shipping Alice/Bella and Edward/Jacob *nods*

Also we watched lots of youtube vids (lots of Arthur/Merlin and Jack/Ianto) and a bit of anime which I don't really see enough of.

And now I think I'm gonna watch the episode of Oz and James' Big Gay British Adventure I missed and DL the latest Brothers & Sisters episode.

EDIT: Argh! They were in Huddersfield and I didn't see them :( (Well I never go to the pub at the train station so it's not that strange but still.. :( )

I'm off home for Christmas/New Year and they'll be no internet connection so I'll say it now:
